We have been in the caravan and camping shop business for nearly 20 years (some people say we look good for our age)!

Hitch-N-Pitch are completely dedicated to your total satisfaction and we hope that shopping with us online will be, almost, as enjoyable as walking into one of our shops!

Making A Purchase

Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.

We accept credit card payment. If you are shopping from North America or anywhere else, place your order and your credit card company will convert the transaction to US Dollars or your own currency.

We have taken great care in the security handling of your information. So we use the trusted and well established Pay Pal secure payment system. This website ensures that all the information that you enter on the payment page is encrypted and is not held in clear text on any website involved with the buying process. So now you know you are safe ......... go spend! Let your fingers do the clicking!

We accept Visa, Maestro and MasterCard. We do not accept Diners Card or American Express.

We do not charge for any item until it is ready to ship. Backordered items are not charged until they are shipped. You may send your credit card information via phone, fax, snail mail or over the Internet.

When confirmation of order is received, this is to indicate that we have received your order.

It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice.

We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason.

In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.
Shipping And Handling

We only use well known couriers, Interlink, Business Post, Royal Mail and Parcel Force as our couriers and they all have a great reputation for getting the goods there.

If you are located UK Mainland, our charges are simple, if you spend up to £300, then the cost to you will be £6.50, spend over £300 and there will be no charge to you.

If you are located on one of the offshore islands, Isle Of Man, Isle Of Wight, Northern Ireland, Channel Islands, or any of the scottish Islands, the delivery charges are as follows:
Spend up to £15, delivery will be 4.50,
up to £50 delivery will be £12.00
up to £150 delivery will be £24.00
Over £150 delivery will be £38.00
Delivery Schedule

We process your order right away. We will normally despatch your order to you in 3 working days, but if we need, we can allow up to 28 days for delivery. International orders, although not normally undertaken, are generally despatched in a similar time, but delivery will take longer.
Back Orders

If your item is not in stock, we will place it on back order for you. You will always be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.
Tax Charges

For orders made from the UK or the European Union, 17.5% VAT is included. All other orders are VAT free.
Credit Card Security

When the order is placed on our website, credit card numbers are encrypted using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site.
Guarantee

We guarantee your satisfaction, but sometimes things do go wrong. Call us first and we will see what we can do for you. Be nice to us and we will be nice to you!

If you decide for any reason that you do not want the ordered item, then contact us within 7 days of receiving your goods and we will happily refund the cost, excluding the original delivery costs, on receipt of the goods in original clean condition complete with original packaging.

This applies to all products, however tents and awnings have a slightly different procedure, please see below. See our returns policy below for more information.

In the unlikely event of a fault being found, or developing, we will, in accordance with the manufacturers guarantee, work with you to get the best result possible.

Privacy Policy

Hitch-N-Pitch do not disclose buyers' information to third parties other than when order details are processed as part of the order fulfilment. In this case, the third party will not disclose any of the details to any other third party.

Cookies are used on this shopping site to keep track of the contents of your shopping cart, to store delivery addresses if the address book is used and to store your details if you select the 'Remember Me' Option.

They are also used after you have logged on as part of that process. You can turn off cookies within your browser by going to 'Tools | Internet Options | Privacy' and selecting to block cookies.

If you turn off cookies, you will be unable to place orders or benefit from the other features that use cookies.

Data collected by this site is used to:

a. Take and fulfil customer orders.
b. Administer and enhance the site and service.
c. Only disclose information to third-parties for goods delivery purposes.
Returns Policy

Incorrect Goods ..... yes it sometimes happens! If we do make a mistake and send you the wrong item, please let us know, and ideally without opening the said erroneous pack, within 7 days of delivery and we will resend your correct item and arrange for collection of the other, at our cost. Please have your order number to hand when you contact us.

Damaged, broken and bent in the wrong place goods ..... If you find that your item is damaged on RECEIPT, please contact us first and certainly within 7 days of delivery. We will arrange collection of the damaged item and despatch a replacement.

In the meantime, if you decide that you do not want the items originally ordered then contact us within 7 days of delivery and we will arrange collection from the delivery address at our cost. You will be credited the amount paid excluding the original delivery charge, when we have checked the item and that it is complete with all parts and original packing materials.

Unsuitable (I've changed my mind!) Items .... ( Please note that tents and awnings do have a slightly different procedure, see below). You must inform us that you will be returning them to us within 48 hours of delivery. The cost and method of return is your responsibility, and the item must be back with us within 14 days of original delivery. If you would like us to arrange collection, then there will be a £15 charge. Call us on 01202 676 400 to do the necessary.

Please note that all unsuitable goods must be returned UNUSED, clean, and all original packaging and labels still attached. Any items returned to us which fail to comply with the above may affect our ability to issue a full refund.

Tent / Awning Returns and or Replacement Policy:

This process is more complex than understanding the offside rule!

So to make life a little easier please read this first.

1. Please be sure that the tent, the size and the colour is exactly what you want.
2. Read, and re-read, and follow the instructions supplied with the tent and then make sure that you have all the parts as listed.

If we have sent you the wrong tent, then call us first, and do not even attempt to unpack the tent. Let us know within 48 days of delivery, and we will arrange for a replacement to be sent and for the collection of the incorrect one, obviously at our cost.

Unsuitable Tents / Awnings:

If you must unpack the tent, to inspect it or pitch it, this must be done indoors on a smooth and clean surface. If it is pitched outdoors, this automatically renders the tent used and it cannot be returned to us (unless found faulty at a later date).

If this is unacceptable to you, we would advise you NOT to purchase tents or awnings online, but to come in to either of our stores and we will endeavour to show you the item, in the flesh, so to speak.

Under the Health & Safety at Work Act "it is not possible for a retailer or manufacturer to handle returned goods in a dirty condition".

Damaged or Faulty Tents / Awnings:

Tent / Awning manufacturer guarantees only cover faults in manufacture, and so if you pitch your tent on top of a hill in a howling gale then do not expect us to replace the broken poles (at our cost)!

However, if a fault does develop, please call us and we will see how we can help. Please don't shout or threaten us as we are a shy and timid group! Initially we will try and resolve your problem over the phone and possibly with the assistance of the manufacturer. We could send a replacement part, or parts that will mostly achieve the desired result of you and us being happy. If this does not work, or is impractical, then the customer is required to return the item to us, enclosing a receipt for the carriage costs for inspection by our in house experts and possibly by a representative for the manufacturers. Until this inspection is completed, then we cannot issue the customer with a replacement tent, or tent part.

If we and the manufacturer are happy that the damage or fault is as a direct result of a manufacturing process then will send on to you a replacement tent and refund your carriage costs.

This sounds like a long process, but we have found this process to be both time and cost efficient, and always keeps you, the customer happy.

These conditions do not affect your statutory rights.
